Instructional Technologies and Infrastructure Services (ITIS)

ITIS staff: designs, equips, and maintains smart classrooms and conference rooms; installs campus telecommunications infrastructure wiring; assists faculty in development of multimedia course materials; builds and maintains the campus Web environment;  plans, directs, and produces teaching and promotional videos; operates and maintains the Central Minnesota Distance Learning Network (CMDLN); and maintains Audio Visual systems campus wide.

Telecommunications Infrastructure (wiring)

ITIS staff install and maintain the copper and fiber optic cable networks across campus. They provide cost estimates and installation timelines for new and renovation projects to keep telecommunications infrastructure avaialble and up to date.

Electronic Classroom (smart classrooms)

Faculty turn to ITIS staff for professional expertise in using high-tech equipment to meet teaching needs. Staff members install and maintain the electronic equipment and make sure the systems are fully operational.

World Wide Web Support

ITIS staff develop, design, and maintain Web sites for SCSU community members. They help faculty design course materials to be used on the Web, and they offer service to campus members who want to share information over the Web. Staff members also provide training in Web page creation.

Graphics Design

Faculty and staff who want help in creating graphics for courses, publications, and presentations turn to ITIS staff members, who work with their clients to meet image creation needs. Staff members also train people to use of a variety of computer programs.

Video Conferencing and ITV

Staff in this office design, install, and maintain the equipment needed to share video and audio transmissions with other locations. They help faculty and students with their video conferencing needs, create and establish classes offered through interactive television, and provide cost estimates. Staff members maintain the operations center for the Central Minnesota Distance Learning Network.

Video Production

Staff members work with campus clients to plan, direct, and produce teaching and promotional videos. From basic video recordings to elaborate communication pieces, the ITIS staff collaborate with faculty and staff to create effective productions.

Audio-Visual

Staff members help faculty select audio-visual equipment to meet classroom needs. They install and maintain audio-visual systems, including overhead projectors and sound systems.
