Technology Support Services (TSS)
Technology Support Services staff reaches across campus to bring the power of information technology to all members of the SCSU community. This site will help you find the right person to contact when you have questions related to access in the various general access (open) labs, need innovative solutions at the HelpDesk or Computer Store or would like information about ResNet, the residence hall network.
Computer Store
Students, staff, and faculty consult with Computer Store staff to choose computer hardware and software and then buy their equipment for campus offices or personal use. Discounts that SCSU receives from major vendors are passed along to campus customers. Visit computerstore.stcloudstate.edu for more information.
HelpDesk
Full- and part-time staff members help students, staff and faculty with hardware and software problems. They take questions over the phone, from walk-in customers, and through e-mail. They offer specialized help for people who want to improve their computing knowledge. Visit huskynet.stcloudstate.edu/helpdesk for more information.Computer and Technical Support in SCSU's Academic Colleges
TSS staff members work out of offices located in three of the academic colleges, giving fast, close-at-hand computing and technical help to faculty.
General Access (Open) Lab Coordination
TSS staff members coordinate activities in the 13 general access (open) labs across campus. They work with the faculty and the computer coordinators in the academic colleges to ensure that the lab facilities continue to meet student needs. Visit huskynet.stcloudstate.edu/labs/openlabs for more information.
Operations/User Ids/Maintenance/Repairs
TSS staff create and maintain user identification codes (user Ids) for new faculty and staff. They monitor and arrange computer hardware maintenance and repair services, and coordinate printer operations.
ResNet
With more
than 3,100 Internet jacks installed in SCSU dormitories, ResNet gives residence
hall students high-speed access to the Internet, to campus networks, and
to networked laser printers. The ResNet office staff help students install
their computers and Ethernet connections and offer them related technical
support. ResNet also provides in-room web-based class registration.
