Laptop and Equipment Check Out
The LRS Circulation desk maintains a small pool of multimedia equipment for use by current faculty, staff, and students of St. Cloud State University. Borrowers must provide supplies such as cassette tapes.
Equipment is not intended for long-term or permanent needs. This equipment checkout program serves the following purposes:
- Supplies resources to those who can’t afford them
- Provides short-term solutions for equipment needs
- Gives multiple users access to resources that they need only sporadically
- Allows students, faculty, and staff to explore using a particular tool that they may purchase later
Most items have a 3-day general checkout. Faculty/ staff can have a maximum of 3 weeks. Each item (except student laptops) can be renewed once. All renewals and checkouts are subject to availability.
For any equipment returned late, students will incur a late fine of $25.00 and an additional $25.00 per day late thereafter. All patrons will receive a bill for the replacement cost of the item on the 5th day overdue. LRS reserves the right to refuse checkout for any reason including, but not limited to, late returns, outstanding fines, damaged equipment, and missing accessories. It is the responsibility of LRS to examine the laptop when it is returned and note its physical and operating condition.
Faculty and staff can make advance reservations for any equipment items. Reservations can be made in person at the Circulation Desk or by phone at 320-308-3083. Students can sign up on the Windows or Mac waiting list for a 7-day laptop. For more information on equipment, please consult the links below.
