New University Archives exhibit focusing on famous visitors to campus

Monday, October 29, 2012

A new physical and virtual exhibit can now be viewed in the University Archives’ space on Miller Center’s third floor and on the web at:

Since its founding in 1869, St. Cloud State University has hosted well-known entertainers, celebrities, politicians, athletes, radio, film, and television actors and actresses, and music groups. These include comedian Bob Hope, rock musician Elton John, basketball's Harlem Globetrotters, and US President Dwight D. Eisenhower. This exhibit, though not comprehensive, highlights the many famous personalities who visited St. Cloud State over the years through information and images from University Archives.

The physical exhibit was created by alum Tiffany Topel Boeson (2009), who has also designed the other University Archives exhibits including:

St. Cloud State University: The Faces Behind the Places:

St. Cloud State University: Libraries of the Past and Present:

Tiffany also designed the murals that stand just outside of the Alumni Room in Atwood Memorial Center.
